A method for the transmission of an alarm from an alarm installation and a system for the transmission of an alarm signal, which system comprises a data communication network 12 provided with hot line function, a first subscriber connection 11 connected to the abovementioned data communication network 12, a second subscriber connection 15 connected to the abovementioned data communication network 12 to generate an alarm 8 or sensor signal, and a connection unit for connecting the alarm installation 8 or the sensor to the first subscriber connection 11, where the connection unit 3 further comprises devices 2b, 31 for reserving the subscriber connection and determining a reservation time T1, and device 32 for sending the alarm signal to the first subscriber connection 11, whereupon the alarm signal is transmitted to the second subscriber connection 15 utilizing the hot line function in a data communication network 12. <IMAGE>
