<p>PURPOSE:To make a radar track an object by changing the direction of the main axis of the radar along the arranging direction of beams so that a predetermined beam among a plurality of beams can keep tracking the object at all times. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of radar diodes in a radar unit 38 are sequentially driven by a driving circuit in the unit to emit light. The laser light is projected to the right, center and left through a projecting lens. The reflecting wave from the object is detected by another photodiode, so that the distance to the object is calculated. At this time, as the emitting timing is compared, it is detected which of the right, center and left beams the distance value indicates, and then a motor M is activated correspondingly. The rotating output controls, through a reduction gear 34A and a worm gear 36A, the main axis of a table 40 to which the radar unit 38 is fixed. In other words, the initial position of the main axis is set while the central beam always detects the object, and accordingly, the main axis is correctly controlled for the rotation.
