PURPOSE:To obtain a piezoelectric actuator which can realize linear motions with a simple structure. CONSTITUTION:Piezoelectric ceramic plates 11a and 11b for obtaining longitudinal vibrations and piezoelectric ceramic plates 12a and 12b and 12c and 12d which are respectively provided on both sides of the plates 11a and 11b for obtaining bending vibrations are arranged on the facing side faces of a metallic rod having a rectangular cross section. An object which comes into contact with the metallic rod can be moved by elliptic motions produced at the end faces of the metallic rod by means of two vibration modes produced by the voltages applied across the electrodes of the ceramic plates. |
