JPRODUCE FOR PREPARATION OF POLYESTER

The polyester is obtained by (1) reacting dimethyl terephthalate and ethylene glycol in the presence of manganic acetate tetrahydrate as a catalyst, (2) adding a slurry composed of calcium carbonate and vinyl pyrrolidone/vinyl acetate copolymer as a dispersing agent into the reaction product of (1), (3) adding trimetyl phosphoric acid as a stabilizer and antimony oxide as a polycondensation catalyst and (4) polycondensating them. The addition amount of the dispersing agent to ethylene glycol is 0.1-5 wt.pts. The resin has an excellent dispersion property, and is useful for packaging material, magnetic tape of photographic film.
