PURPOSE:To provide a driving system for electric automobile which can realize safe stoppage or traveling upon occurrence of failure without spreading trouble. CONSTITUTION:A vector control circuit 4 normally performs vector control of an inverter 3, being fed back from a rotational speed sensor 2 and drives an induction motor 1 for thrusting a vehicle. Upon occurrence of abnormality in the rotational speed sensor 2, an abnormality signal is outputted from an abnormality detecting circuit 8 and a switching circuit 7 functions to control the inverter 3 through a V/f control circuit 5. According to the invention, an automobile can be stopped or traveled safely even upon failure of the rotational speed sensor 2. |
