PURPOSE: To provide a transmission device for synchronous digital hierarchy by providing an adapting circuit for compensating the phase shift of an STM-N signal. CONSTITUTION: This adapting circuit 8 has buffers 17 and 33, write address generators 16 and 35, read address generators 18 and 44, stuffing decision circuits 24 and 43, and output circuits 19 and 45 so as to send a stuffing place in as to at least one container of the STM-N signal. The buffers are provided so as to read and write container data. The address generators are provided to generate write addresses regarding the data to be written, and the read address generators are provided to generate read addresses regarding the data to be read. |
