PURPOSE:To improve adhesion by incorporating 0 to 2wt.% >=1 kinds of cyclic polyolefin and alkyl phenol condensates having the structural unit expressed by specific general formula into the substrate of the optical recording medium. CONSTITUTION:The optical recording medium 1 has a recording layer 3 contg. dyes on the substrate 2 and is formed with a reflection layer 4 and a protective film 5 in tight contact with the recording layer 3. The substrate 2 contains 0 to 2wt.% >=1 kinds of the cyclic polyolefin and alkyl phenol condensates having the repeating structural unit expressed by the formula 1. The coating is executed by dissolving the dyes to be incorporated into the recording layer into a solvent of preferably a ketone system. The characteristics of the substrate are improved in such a manner and the coatability and film quality of the dye film are improved, by which the adhesion to the substrate is improved and the formation of the recording layer is facilitated. |
