PURPOSE:To obtain a piezoelectric actuator which can realize linear motions with a simple structure. CONSTITUTION:Piezoelectric ceramic plates 11a and 11b for obtaining longitudinal vibrations are arranged on one facing side face of a metallic rod having a rectangular cross section and piezoelectric ceramic plates 12a and 12b for obtaining bending vibrations are arranged on the other facing side face. By generating two vibrating modes by means of voltages applied across the electrodes of the piezoelectric ceramic plates, an object which comes into contact with the metallic rod is moved by elliptic motions produced at the end faces of the metallic rod by the vibrating modes. |
