PURPOSE:To extract characteristics uniformly by normalizing the cross sectional area, aspect and amplitude construction of a target, thereby preventing generation of the difference and distortion of the amplitude construction to the echoes from the same target. CONSTITUTION:The data of the amplitude, direction and distance of echoes is input (1) so as to normalize the cross sectional area of a target. The peak value of the amplitude is detected to be an origin of coordinates. Then, the polar coordinates are turned to orthogonal coordinates (2). A regression line is calculated (3) from the variation of the data of the amplitude, distance and direction, which is situation of the target. The coordinates are turned with respect to the calculated regression line to normalize the situation of the target (4). The amplitude construction is projected on the width and distance axes (5) so as to normalize the amplitude construction of the target. The largest value of the amplitude is detected and all the data are normalized by the maximum value (6). Thereafter, the length of the interval is calculated and, the width and distance axes are normalized (7) and interpolated (8) according to the molded of least squares. The data are automatically classified. |
