PURPOSE:To accelerate the calculation processing of a density histogram and to perform processing at a video rate in a density histogram calculation method and circuit for a connection area. CONSTITUTION:An input image, after being converted to a binary image at a density conversion part 3, is inputted to a temporary labeling part 4, and a label is attached on each picture element temporarily, and a temporal label density histogram calculation part 11 accumulates and adds the density histogram at every temporal label. A connection relation arranging part 7 arranges connection relation by removing duplication, and also, a clustering part 9 attaches the same update label on the temporal labels being connected mutually, and outputs a pair of [temporal label, update label]. An update label density histogram calculation part 12 calculates the density histogram from the calculation result of the temporal label density histogram calculation part 11. |
