PURPOSE:To assure cleaning of a surface of a photosensitive body with a cleaning mechanism of a simple constitution by carrying out contact and separation operations of each of the two cleaning means for a photosensitive body simultaneously when the direction of rotation of the photosensitive body is changed over. CONSTITUTION:When the photosensitive belt 203 is rotated forward, residual transfer toner remaining on the photosensitive belt 203 is cleaned when a cleaning part 206A is passed. At this time, the cleaning part 206B is evaded to a position being in noncontact with the photosensitive belt 203. When the direction of rotation of the photosensitive belt 203 is changed from forward rotation to reverse rotation, a cleaning changeover solenoid 230 is reset, and a cleaning changeover cam 231 is rotated by 90 deg.. Then, a cleaning changeover lever 232 is lowered by this, and the cleaning part 206A mounted and connected to these mechanisms is separated from the photosensitive belt 203. At the same time, the cleaning part 206B connected in the same way is brought close into the photosensitive belt 203 at the same time. |
