PRODUCTION OF RADIAL LINE SLOT ANTENNA

PURPOSE:To eliminate the deterioration of performance of a radial line slot antenna by correcting the shape of the antenna in accordance with the dielectric constants of X and Y directions obtained with a dielectric put into a radial waveguide line based on a slot pattern set on the assumption that the dielectric put in the radial waveguide line has an even dielectric constant. CONSTITUTION:A low foaming dielectric 5 is provided between a frame 2 and a circular slot plate 3. The transmission wave supplied from a coaxial line 4 travels to a radial guidewave line 6 from a probe 4a and reaches a peripheral part. The dielectric 5 has the anisotropy and therefore has the different intra- tube lengths in the (x) and (y) axis directions of the plate 3. Then the desired radio wave is not radiated from a slot array set on a spiral line S2. In order to prevent this defect, a slot array is provided on the line S2 of a corrected slot pattern. The shape of a slot pattern is corrected based on its dielectric constant when such a dielectric that has the 1st and 2nd dielectric constants in the (x) and (y) directions are put based on the slot pattern prescribed on the assumption that the dielectric 5 has an even dielectric constant. Then a chevron-shaped slot pair SL2 is provided on the line S2.
