[Class 40 (iii)] Electric impulses 35 are fed to one grid 42 of a two-grid valve 39, and switching impulses 43 are fed to the other grid 44 so that the synchronizing impulses 35 are only able to pass to the output anode circuit 40 in the presence of a switching impulse. The valve is a hexode and the switching-impulses are fed to the inner controlling-grid and the synchronizing impulses to the outer controlling- grid. A further valve 38 feeds line-synchronizing impulses 34 to the common anodecircuit load 40. The second valve may also have two grids, the two valves being operated alternately by switching impulses.
