[Class 68 (i)] In a suction dredger, the suction pipe b, pivoted at 1, has a suction head a pivoted at 2, and a rod d, pivoted at 3, is pivoted at 4 to an arm e on the suction head ; the points 1 .. 4 form the corners of a parallelogram whereby the cutting angle of the head remains constant when the suction pipe is angularly adjusted. Insertions f, g facilitate initial setting of the head a. Pressure water is supplied to the suction head through a tubular linkage h, or a hose. In another form the rod d is replaced by a pipe supplying the pressure water. The pivot 3 may be carried by a lever pivoted at 1 and adjusted by a screw.
