PURPOSE:To obtain the antireflection film consisting of a rugged film which is free from glittering by a light condensing effect, is free from a light diffusion effect by fine particles and is less deteriorated in resolution. CONSTITUTION:In the method for forming the antireflection film on the outside surface of a face part 10 of a cathode ray tube, a coating liquid prepd. by dispersing fine particles 20 of 1 to 10mum coated with films 19 which can be dissolved away by solvents exclusive of alcohol into an alcohol soln. of silicate is applied on the outside surface of the face part to form a coating layer 21 consisting of the silicate and the fine particles 20 coated with the films 19 and thereafter, this coating layer 21 is washed by the above-mentioned solvent, by which the films 19 coating the fine particles 20 are dissolved and the fine particles 20 are removed. The coating layer 23 of the silicate is thus formed. |
