INSPECTING RADAR OF GROUND UNDER RAILROAD TRACK

PURPOSE:To obtain an apparatus which can inspect the ground even when a railroad using a railroad tie containing a steel wire is provided there. CONSTITUTION:This radar is provided with a transmitting antenna 7 and receiving antennas 6, 8 arranged parallel to railroad ties. The polarizing direction of waves of each antenna can be changed by 90 deg.. When a pulse is generated from a rotary encoder 5, two pulses are generated from a radar controller 1. One of the three antennas is selected to be used for transmission purpose and the remaining antennas are used to receive waves in response to the first pulse. At the next pulse, the combination or selection of the antennas is changed to transmit and receive the waves. Moreover, the polarizing surface of the antennas is changed corresponding to a to-be-inspected object.
