PURPOSE:To obtain a rotary bezel apparatus which allows the setting of timer time simply. CONSTITUTION:A piezoelectric element 2 is fixed on a stator 1 made of a ring-shaped elastic material and a ring-shaped rotor 3 is kept in contact with the surface of the stator 1 under pressure. Moreover, a bezel 4 which is arranged rotatable in the perimeter of a timepiece case is built integral with the rotor 3. When a high frequency voltage is applied to the piezoelectric element 2, the piezoelectric element 2 is extended or reduced to form a progressive wave on the surface of the stator 1 and the rotor 3 rotates by a friction between the surface of the stator 1 and the surface of the rotor 3 so that the bezel 4 rotates. In addition, a position detector 5 is provided to detect that the bezel 4 rotates to each a reference position. |
