<p>PURPOSE:To provide the communication system in the asynchronous transfer mode in which congestion of a relay line is controlled and transmission quality is kept. CONSTITUTION:An electronic exchange 1 provided with a communication system of the asynchronous transfer mode accommodates a relay line 13 of the communication system of the asynchronous transfer mode and a terminal equipment 12 of an optional communication system, the terminal equipment 12 is provided with a means applying a maximum data speed and a mean data speed for transmission per unit time to the electronic exchange 1 when the terminal equipment 12 makes a call or replies, and the electronic exchange 1 is provided with a means storing the application value from the terminal equipment 12 while being converted into a maximum cell speed and a mean cell speed sent per unit time in the asynchronous transfer mode, a means measuring the maximum cell speed and the mean cell speed of the terminal equipment 12 when the terminal equipment 12 is connected to a relay line 13 (maximum cell speed measurement device 3B and a mean cell speed measurement device 3C), and a mean (header conversion section 3) aborting a cell of the data sent from the terminal equipment 12 till the measured maximum cell speed and mean cell speed exceed the maximum cell speed and the mean cell speed applied in advance and decrease to the maximum cell speed and the mean cell speed applied in advance or below.</p> |
