A device for coupling a workpiece to be machined by grinding to a floating drive device, comprising elements (39, 40) for successively positioning a finished machined workpiece, positioning the drive device and immobilizing it while the machined workpiece is being replaced with a fresh workpiece, then releasing it once this workpiece is in place. Said device is useful particularly for machining drive rollers used in office equipment.
