Functional fluids based on natural tri:glyceride(s) - contain polyalkoxylated alcohol(s), amide(s), amine(s) and/or carboxylic acids

Functional fluids (I), based on natural triglycerides, contain additives of polyalkoxylated alcohols, amides, amines and/or carboxylic acids. The additives pref. have mol.wts. of 300-3000 and are of formula (II) St-((CH2-CH2-O)a-H)b (II) (where St is alcohol, amide, or amine; a is 1-50; and b is number of reactive hydrogens in the starter mole; St esp. stands for the starter mole, obtd. when triglycerides are reacted with a catalyst for ethoxylation). The additives are present in an amt. of 0.5-5 wt.% and they also contain 0-20 wt.% mineral and/or synthesis oils and further additives in an amt. of 0-10 wt.%, pref. corrosion protection agents, viscosity improvers, stock point reducers, microbicides, antifoam additives and/or solid lubricants.
