The carrier (1), connected to the front panel, supports functional units, e.g. as p.c.b.'s (3,4). At the rear of the unit the boards are tied to a spacer (6). Intermediate boards (50) act as carriers for bridging sub board unit (51,52,57). Components (57) are mounted on the surfaces. The circuit boards may be rapidly exchanged by removing the spacer from the rear. Side plates latch into position to enclose the boards. ADVANTAGE - Simple assembly and exchange of boards with good access for servicing.
