Exhaust-driven burner for regenerator particle filter - has after burner chamber with partial exhaust flow, between combustion and mixer chambers
摘要
The burner is located in the exhaust system of an IC engine. It has an air-supported fuel nozzle, and a spark plug in a combustion chamber with combustion air feed sideward of the nozzle. Exhaust from the engine is fed into a mixer chamber upstream of the particle filter, to mix with the combustion gases. There are also controls for fuel and air supply. An after burner chamber (4) is located between combustion chamber (3) and mixer chamber (8). A partial exhaust volume from the engine flows through that chamber. ADVANTAGE - Reduced contaminant release and reduced air pumping losses.
