Medicament for influencing intraocular pressure comprises components (I) of (C) Kogan egg cells. Isolation of ascorbic acid (II), (I) or a halocrine incretion (III) from the eyes up vertebrates comprises: (a) either sepg. the front quarter of the eyeball (consisting of the iris, the cornea, the aq. humour and a part of the lens) from the rest of the eyeball, or making an incision in the cornea; (b) removing the iris and the aq. humour; (c) squeezing out the tissue fluids in the iris/aq. humour, to give (III) (which contains (I)) and (I) (which is present in the aq. humour. USE/ADVANTAGE - Esp. used for treatment of progressive short-sightedness in young people and elevated ocular pressure in older people
