<p>Relatively rotatable body (2,3,4) and collar (5) parts of a coupling for flexible conduit (1) are releasably locked together by means of a locking washer (6) positioned axially between them. The washer is in the form of a closed loop of non-planar form, giving it resilient axial compressibility. The washer comprises a pair of upstanding lugs (9) which are diametrically opposed and engage in notches (11) in the body (2,3,4). The washer also comprises an oppositely projecting locking tooth (12) which can engage in any one of a plurality of circumferentially spaced notches (16) in the collar (5). With the lugs (9) and the tooth (12) both engaged, rotation between the body (1) and the collar (5) is prevented (preventing unscrewing of the collar from the body) but the tooth (12) can be moved manually out of engagement with the collar to permit relative rotation. <IMAGE></p> |
