The invention relates to an instrument for applying an adhesion prophylaxis, especially in the form of a foil (22) for endoscopic operations. The instrument comprises a circular-cylindrical application sleeve (10) for insertion into a trocar sleeve or for the direct insertion into a pneumoperitoneum. A rod-shaped foil carrier (14) can be accommodated in the application sleeve onto which the foil-like adhesion prophylaxis (22) is wound. The foil carrier has for this an elongate, especially axial, reception region (20) in its front region in which the adhesion prophylaxis is accommodated positively or non-positively.
