<p>The present invention relates to a method of automatically compensating for the time uncertainties in an electronic system (20) for an automatic tester (21) delivering at least one input signal (25) for the system and receiving the output signals (22) coming from this system at measurement instants determined by measurement windows, including the following successive steps: (a) shifting, forwards or backwards by a defined pitch, all or part of the input signals, or respectively of the measurement windows, up to an instant t1 of coincidence of these measurement windows with the output signals of the system, (b) shifting by the defined pitch of the input signals, or respectively of the measurement windows, up to a following instant t2 of non-coincidence of these measurement windows with the output signals of the system, (c) determination of a compensation time which is optimal for the uncertainties of the system, which time lies between the predefined instants t1 and t2.
