PURPOSE:To compensate the hearing ability of a hearing person and to enable the hearing person to hear at an optimum speech speed. CONSTITUTION:A section dividing process part 1 performs a section dividing process for dividing an input speech into a voiced section and a voiceless section and a pitch period extracting process part 3 extracts the pitch period of the voiced section; and a pitch section dividing process part 4 divides the section into pitch sections and a pitch section length extending and repeating process part 5 increases each pitch section length according to a rate determined by a speech speed setting part. Further, a voiceless section extending process part 2 extends the voiceless section according to a rate determined by the speech speed setting part. Then a synthesis part 7 puts the voiceless section which is extended, the voiceless section which is not processed, and the voiced section which is extended in pitch section together in the same order with the input speech and outputs the result as a speech. |
