<p>PURPOSE:To provide the method and device for pattern matching which shorten the processing time to realize the quickness. CONSTITUTION:The parallel processing method where a processing picture is divided into plural processing areas and picture processings of individual processing areas are performed by processors independent of one another and the SSDA method where the processing is aborted at the time when the degree of mismatching of the object picture to a template picture in the picture processing in each processing area exceeds a prescribed threshold are adopted together, and the processing picture is so divided that processing areas of respective processors in the former parallel processing method are uniform with respect to position. Consequently, the processing time in the SSDA method is not ununiform among processors, and the processing time is shortened to increase the processing speed. An image memory 11, and address generating part 12, plural processors #1 to #4. a data memory 13, a minimum value detecting part 14, and a control part 15 are included to constitute a pattern matching device.</p> |
