PURPOSE:To reduce the number of times of key operation at the time of edition and to execute edition by little storage capacity by executing edition processing in each word before or after a specified word. CONSTITUTION:A display part 1 displays a sentence or the like in editing and an input part 12 executes the input of a character string, the specification of an editing position and the instruction of editing contents. A 'KANA' (Japanese syllabary)/'KANJI' (Chinese character) conversion part 13 converts a 'KANA' character string inputted from the input part 12 into a 'KANA'/'KANJI' mixed sentence and a sentence edition control part 14 executes edition based upon an instruction inputted from the input part 12. Japanese words are stored in a dictionary part 15 and retrieved by the conversion part 13 and the control part 14. An edited sentence is stored in a secondary storage 16 and a sentence in editing is stored in a sentence buffer 17. Thereby the control part 14 judges the range of a word located before or after an editing position specified by the input part 12 by retrieving the dictionary part 15, edits specified contents in the judged word range and displays the edited result on the display part 11. |
