PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a device to be mounted on a moving body to store map information and to retrieve the map information. CONSTITUTION:The signal receiving means of map information transmitters 2 to 9 receive prescribed signals when the signal transmitting means of a map information display device 1 transmits these signals in order to request the transmission of the map information. On the other hand, the radio wave intensity measuring means of the map information transmitters 2 to 9 measure the radio wave intensity of the signals transmitted from the map display device 1 and the position detecting means of map information transmitter 2 detect the position of the map display device 1 by comparing the measured radio wave intensity. The transmission control means of the device 2 controls the transmitting means of the map display signal transmission device nearest the map display device 1 and transmits the map information held by an information holding means. The map display device 1 receives and displays this information. |
