PURPOSE: To provide a slender body taping-insulated having a smooth outer surface. CONSTITUTION: A synthetic material tape wound around a slender body 1 is insulated with an insulating outer cover formed by covering with a synthetic material varnish layer 11. Taping is conducted so that a groove 4 having width almost equal to 0-5% of the width of the tape and strictly speaking, larger than zero is formed between the free edge of the whole of a winding part 3 where is not covered by succeeding winding and the surface where is not covered by the preceding winding.
