MATERIAL FOR DIELECTRIC LENS ANTENNA

PURPOSE:To obtain a dielectric lens antenna with less deterioration in an antenna gain and high reliability. CONSTITUTION:A composite material composed of a dielectric ceramics and a thermoplastic high polymer material is used for a material for a dielectric lens 12 and a matching layer 14. The melting point of the thermoplastic high polymer material used for the matching layer composite material is selected to be equal to or more than the melting point of the thermoplastic high polymer material used for the dielectric lens composite material. The matching layer 14 is formed on the surface of the dielectric lens 12 by using the materials. The specific dielectric constant of the matching layer is selected to be equal to or close to a root of the specific dielectric constant of the dielectric lens 12. Furthermore, the thickness of the matching layer 14 is selected to be nearly 1/4 of the wavelength of a desired microwave.
