PURPOSE:To eliminate the influence of polarization interference based on the distortion of the polarization characteristic of plastic lenses used in the imaging optical system of the optical scanner. CONSTITUTION:This device deflects the laser light beam from a light source device 1 for radiating the linearly polarized laser beam by an optical deflector 5, forms a light spot SP on the surface 7 to be scanned by imaging optical systems 2, 6 disposed on the optical path from the light source device 1 to the surface 7 to be scanned and scans the surface 7 to be scanned by this light spot SP. The plastic lenses are included in the imaging optical systems 2, 6 and a lambda/4 wave length plate 2 is disposed in the optical path from the light source device 1 to the surface 7 to be scanned. |
