PURPOSE:To constitute the equipment so that a packet to a node discriminated well-definedly in a network is always transmitted continuously to its node even if its node moves in the network and an address is changed. CONSTITUTION:The packet transfer equipment receives a packet addressed to an old address which is flowing in a network. An address converting part 3 inquires of a data managing part 2 about a new address. The data managing part 2 fetches the new address by referring to data of a data part 1. To the address converting part 3, the new address is informed from the data managing part 2, and the address of the received packet is converted to the new address. The converted packet is sent out through a communication control part 4.
