<p>PURPOSE:To convert a high-definition video signal into a pseudo NTSC video signal by a simple and inexpensive device without deteriorating the picture quality. CONSTITUTION:The luminance data of the uneven-number field extending the time axis by a Y signal time axis compression circuit 13 is processed by a vertical filter 23. It is thinned out by an inter-line thinning circuit 24 to make 525 scanning lines. This luminance data is time-axis converted by a time axis conversion circuit 25, and outputted as a luminance signal Y of a pseudo NTSC signal through an adder 26, a D/A converter 27, and a low-pass filter 28. The color difference data whose time axis is extended by a color difference signal time axis extension circuit 14 is converted by time axis conversion circuits 29 and 30. They are taken as color difference data I and Q by a matrix circuit 31, and the balance is modulated by a balance modulation circuit 32. Through a D/A converter 33 and a low-pass filter 34, it is outputted as a chrominance signal C of the pseudo NTSC signal.</p> |
