<p>PURPOSE: To efficiently and effectively gather, analyze and translate data and to automatically diagnose a data communication network in consideration of interaction and control by an operator by diagnosing the data communication network according to the landmark extraction paradigm. CONSTITUTION: This is an expert system 102 for diagnosing the data communication network 142. The expert system 102 operates according to the landmark data extraction paradigm. In the landmark data extraction paradigm, a landmark is a translation of network data. The landmark is an indicator of a network problem. The expert system 102 detects the landmark, and translates the detected landmark to decide whether or not there is a network problem, thereby diagnosing the data communication network 142.</p> |
