<p>PURPOSE:To realize approximately natural speaking without degrading the efficiency of a transmission line in the silent section noise insertion control system where a noise approximating the background noise on the transmission side is inserted to a silent section on the reception side. CONSTITUTION:On the transmission side, the presence or the absence of an audio signal is detected by an audio detection part 1, and a sounding cell or a silent cell is assembled by a cell assembling part 2, and the silent cell is sent at intervals of a time sufficiently longer than that of the sounding cell. On the reception side, the sounding cell and the silent cell are separated by a cell separating part 3, and the cell is decomposed by a cell decomposing part 4 to obtain the audio signal or a background noise signal. The average power and the frequency characteristic of the background noise signal are obtained, and a variable noise generating part 7 is controlled to generate a noise whose level and frequency characteristic approximate those of the background noise on the transmission side, and this noise is inserted to the silent section.</p> |
