<p>PURPOSE:To provide the liquid crystal display device which is small in display irregularity, flicker, and after image at a low price by inputting the gate voltage of a picture element area thin film transistor from the left end of a display area and the gate voltage of a sampling (peripheral circuit) thin film transistor from the right end of the display area. CONSTITUTION:In the liquid crystal display device of active transistor matrix constitution, a gate driving circuit successively applies the gate voltage to scanning lines G1-GM as electrodes led out of the respective gates of laterally arranged thin film transistors in common. Namely, the gate voltage is supplied from the left end of the display area 8. The sampling voltages phi1 and phi2 supplied to the gate of the sampling TFT, on the other hand, are supplied by a sampling circuit 9 from the right end of the display area 8. Therefore, jump-in voltage drops of the both cancel each other and a uniform voltage is applied to a liquid crystal capacitance to obtain the liquid crystal display device which is small in display irregularity and flicker over the entire screen area and has excellent display performance.</p> |
