PURPOSE:To decrease the number of transistors by omitting a barrel shifter which shifts previously both a divisor and a dividend so as to secure the difference of contents between a code bit and the next bit of the divisor. CONSTITUTION:The code bits of the divisor held in a register 9 which holds the divisors are different from each other and a digit position detector means 15 detects the position of the digit of the highest order among the code bits held in the register 9. Then a redundant number extracting means 14 extracts the number including a code of three digits necessary for decision of the quotient digit out of the position of an optional digit of the dividend shown by the number including the redundant code based on the control information obtained from the detecting result of the means 15 or the partial residue. |
