PURPOSE:To permit a user to perform the KANA (Japanese syllabary writing)/KANJI (Chinese character) conversion using an abbreviation without adding words to diction ary by automatically registering an abbreviation at the end of the KANA/KANJI conversion. CONSTITUTION:A KANA/KANJI conversion means 1 outputs a KANJI string 6, and outputs a conversion unit KANA character string 7 as the unit of a KANA/KANJI conversion, and outputs the KANJI string in the KANJI string 6 as a KANJI string 8. An abbreviation generation means 2 inputs a conversion unit KANA character string 7 and the KANJI string 8 from the KANA/KANJI conversion means 1, outputs the conversion unit-KANA character string 7 inputted first as an abbreviation 9, concatenates the KANJI string 8 for each input of the KANJI string 8, and outputs the concatenated KANJI string as a concatenated KANJI string 10 at the point ending the conversion of the KANA character string 5 by the KANA/KANJI conversion means 1. An abbreviation registration means 3 inputs the abbreviation 9 and the concatenated KANJI string 10 from the abbreviation generation means 2, and registers a pair of the abbreviation 9 and the concatenated KANJI string 10 in a KANA/KANJI conversion dictionary 4. |
