PURPOSE:To provide a rare earth element-cobalt series permanent magnet having excellent magnetic characteristics and particularly large coercive force (iHc). CONSTITUTION:A permanent magnet formed of an R2Co17 intermetallic compound comprising a composition containing by weight percentage 20-28% of R (R is one or more types of rare earth elements); 1-9% of Cu; 14-40% of Fe; 0.5-7% of M (M is one or more types selected from a group consisting of Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mn, Mo, W, Si, and Al); and the residue mainly of Co and having a crystalline structure of TbCu7 as a main ingredient. |
