PURPOSE:To satisfactorily form an image without causing a photosensitive drum an electric breakdown in the case where the characteristics of the photosensitive drum does not allow either positive or negative voltage destaticization/ exposure. CONSTITUTION:A destaticizing lamp 22 is disposed at the back of an auxiliary electrifier 21 and exposes an opposite area on the periphery of the photosensitive drum 1 opposite which the auxiliary electifier 21 is positioned. The opposite area is immediately destaticized by means of exposure even when the opposite area is electrified because of the sticking of charges from the auxiliary electrifier 21 thereto. Therefore, the surface potential of the opposite area does not become high. The polarity of the auxiliary electrifier 21 is the one capable of causing destaticization and exposure. |
