<p>PURPOSE:To form on the real-time basis a signal reception beam pattern of a low side-lobe oriented in the given beam orienting direction by furnishing a plane projection beam oriented weight memory and a pattern memory weight computer. CONSTITUTION:A signal processor 3 instructs the beam orienting direction to a plane projection beam oriented weight memory 7. The weight memory 7 synthesizes a plane wave of opposite phase to the null point direction so that the null point is formed in the theoretical null direction in a pattern due to weight projected on the plane, and prepares a low side-lobe pattern. A pattern memory 8 holds pattern data Ex(thetay) which is measured in advance and which is coarser than the beam orienting resolution DELTAthetas as requested. A weight computer 9 is fed with the pattern data and determines the weight of the low side- lobe through approximative calculation. A beam forming device 3 uses this weight and forms on the real-time basis the signal reception beam pattern of the low side-lobe which is oriented in the given beam orienting direction.</p> |
