PURPOSE:To provide the automatic accompaniment device which detects an accurate fractional chord even when a table with small memory capacity is used. CONSTITUTION:A pitch information generating means generates plural pieces of pitch information corresponding to playing operation, a pitch information separating means separates 1st pitch information corresponding to the chord root of the fractional chord and 2nd pitch information corresponding to the base tone from those pieces of pitch information, and a chord detecting means detects a chord pattern showing a specific chord kind according to chord information stored in a storage means 9 in advance and the 1st pitch information. Consequently, the accurate fractional chord can be detected even when the table with small memory capacity is used. An automatic accompaniment means automatically sounds the fractional chord matching the chord pattern and 2nd pitch information.
