Drum for shaping tyres in which one hub is mounted on a sliding sleeve on the main shaft. An annular air cylinder is formed in each hub, whose piston is connected through a slider-link mechanism to radially-expanding segments which secure the tyre bead. A flexible rubber sealing membrane encloses the flanges of hub to prevent leakage of inflating air. USE/ADVANTAGE - Complete shaping and preparation of tyres, esp. for commercial vehicles. Sliding sleeve accommodates different bead-to-bead distances. Segmental construction holds beads securely and uniformly for improved tyre uniformity. Sealing membrane avoids leakage of inflating air. When piston is retracted, tyre is easily removed from drum
