<p>The distal end of a reciprocating plunger (60) of a power saw includes a longitudinally extending cavity (61, 68). In one embodiment, a clamp (80) is freely received on the distal end of the plunger (60). A pin (92) extends through inclined slots (70, 71) in opposed walls of the plunger (60) and has its opposite ends received in the clamp (80). A spring (90) in the cavity (61, 68) engages the pin (92) for urging the clamp (80) toward the proximal end of the plunger (60) which cams the clamp (80) such that the blade is held between a planar wall on the plunger (60) and a planar wall formed by an opening in the clamp (80).</p> |
