The web material for roof sealing, contg. at least one layer of a bitumen material, has a covering during mfg. wholly or partially over the bitumen layer (11) at least at one outer side (12, 13). Pref. the outer side (12, 13) of the bitumen layer (11) is covered only during one mfg. stage, esp. when the bitumen layer (11) has set such as during the cooling and hardening stage. The covering belt (24) or film is laid at least at one outer side (12) of the layer (11) and moved synchronously with it, for removal after the layer has set sufficiently. On partial covering of an outer side (12, 13), it forms a stencil to give the layer a surface structure. The outer surface (12, 13) of the layer (11) which is not covered is treated with a scattering of a granular or powder material, pref. a mineral material such as talcum. The covering belt (24) or film is used a number of times. One outer side (12, 13) and pref. the upper side (12) is partially covered and the other side (13) is fully covered. ADVANTAGE - The material can be produced economically and structured for its application.
