A composite section has two metal parts and two connecting insulating plastic parts held in grooves in the metal parts so that the four parts form a longitudinal inner chamber which is filled with thermally insulating plastic material. This chamber is partly or completely filled with a preformed plastic material, either foamed or not, which is held in position by suitable fixings. This infill can be thermoplastic, thermoset or elastomer, but pref. polyethylene, silicone rubber, phenolic or aminoplastic resin, polypropylene, acrylic-butadiene-styrene or polyamide, and it can be filled with e.g. chalk, or fibres, etc.. ADVANTAGE - The infill is held securely in position. The composite section can be heat-treated e.g. as in coating with a stove enamel.
