PURPOSE:To permit a car body construction to be adapted to various specifications by preparing a monocock chassis frame for a base body to which a rear structure such as 2-door sedan, pickup, 2-door van, etc. is optionally combined. CONSTITUTION:A front portion before pillars 1 is constituted from front pillars 2, a door 3, roof panel 4, front fender panel 5, etc. as a usual car body construction. A roof rail 6 is integrated with the upper portion of the pillars 1 and a cross member 7 with the lower portion of the pillars 1. A chassis from 8 having a box-shaped section is mounted on the lower and rear portions of the pillars 1. A rear member 9 having a box-shaped section is mounted on the rear end of the frame 8 to provide a base body constituting a monocock chassis frame consisting of said members. Thus a car body of various types such as 2-door sedan, van, pickup, etc. is obtained from combining optionally these rear can bodies A, B, C respectively. |
