<p>A power management system for turbine engines (12L, 12R) includes a plurality of switches (18, 20, 22), each allowing for engine speed and engine torque to be controlled together. The switches (18, 20, 22) correspond to various modes of operation of the turbine engine (12L, 12R). When a switch (18, 20, 22) is selected, a mode signal is supplied to a FADEC (34) which, in response, issues speed and torque commands to an associated engine (12L, 12R). The FADEC (34) includes function generators (60, 62, 64) that issue the torque commands as a function of outside ambient conditions. Takeoff torque can be corrected for heating conditions. The power management system can also provide torque commands as a linear function of power lever angle.</p> |
